Celebrations and Reflections

A very merry (belated) Christmas to you all! I hope you've enjoyed relaxing, spending time and enjoying company with those that you love. I finished my first term at university and headed back home up north 2 weeks ago to spend the season with my family, visiting my friends and catching up.

But one thing I've especially learnt this Christmas as I've gotten older - as the busy festive season comes with more responsibilities and tasks - is to really plan and make time to properly see and spend quality time with those close to you, the people and friends who mean a lot to you and those who you want to be there for a lifetime. Not realising how busy I'd be and with my return to London this weekend I've been awakened to the fact I haven't managed my time well and haven't seen my friends half as much as I'd have wished, one thing I'm definitely going to make up for this week... Bring on the cocktails and good gossip!

These photos where taken at a family friend's house on Christmas Eve as we mingled and chatted the evening away with canapés and Prosecco, sat by the heat of the roaring fire we were joined with the soft background music from a pianist and the occasional guest who'd join in to sing us a festive carol!

As I write this post I'm sat watching Frozen with the family in Pembrokeshire, Wales visiting my newly born niece! A little beauty who I couldn't wait to meet in person, eee can't believe I'm an Auntie! I'm so proud of my sister. Spending time here in a peaceful town next to the sea always gives me a chance to reflect, and as we draw to the end of 2014 reflection on the past year and my hopes for 2015 are on my mind, and I remind myself and everyone else to never stop dreaming. But perhaps more importantly to chase your dreams.

Happy new year dreamers :)
